Happy Halloween!

These are the treat bags I made for my nieces and nephew, I filled them with different treats based off their ages, the older kids got candy of course and the younger ones got goldfish and cookies.. The monsters and spiders are peppermint patty chocolates, yummy! I saw the monster idea at a meeting I went to but don't know who made them, sorry, I added two more legs to mine to make them a little different. I have seen these spiders done by several different people on blogs and Splitcoast, I also added more legs to make a total of eight.

Here are our little munchkins, an elephant and a lion. Ryan was happy in his costume for the last two days but didn't want to stop crying for me to take a picture. I am hoping my sister-in-law got a good one. Beside each of them is their pumpkin, Ryan obviously had lots of help with his, he actually kept taking the pieces out instead of putting them in! Craig would show me where he wanted each piece to go and I would start it for him and then he would push them the rest of the way in.

I was amazed at how well he trick or treated today.  For a two year old he picked up pretty fast that he was getting chocolate, he started to lead the way up the driveways after about the 3rd house.

Halloween Treats!

These are the treats I made for the boys to take to the Early Years center today. I made little baggies of goldfish for the children and the Owl bags for the staff. We really have wonderful staff at the center I go to so I like to do something special for them whenever I can.

I had to post this picture because Craig is stealing a bag of fish while I was trying to take a picture, I probably had to take 10 pictures. His hand almost looks spooky like a ghost!
I hope everyone has a great and safe Halloween tomorrow!

Oct 29, 2009

I don't have any pictures right now but will be back in the morning with some. I am taking our boys to a halloween party at the Early Years center so I have been busy making treats. It is funny how we know an occasion is coming up yet we still procrastinate and save things till the last minute. I will take some pics of them in their costumes and of the treats that I made for all the kids to show you in the morning.

Snow Burst

I really like how todays card turned out. I used the Snow Burst (retired) and the Season's Greetings from the Snow Swirled set. The colors are Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Kraft. I saw a card like this on Splitcoast stampers but forgot to write down the name to mention you, sorry, feel free to message me so I can give you proper credit.
Have a great day!

Snow Swirled Christmas tree

So I am not very happy with todays card, I decided to try a different layout and this is what I got. I decided to post it still because it may give you some great ideas for your own projects. I think it might be the colors I don't like so I am going to try it with different stamps and colors. If you decide to use this layout I would love to see what you come up with, you can email me a picture and I will display it on my blog for everyone to see.

More Dasher

So I was a bad girl today...I went over to Port Huron shopping and got all excited in the craft store. I just can't help myself, I am so lucky that I have a husband that lets me spend on all my different craft hobbies.
So todays card is Dasher and Snow Swirled again! I guess these stamp sets must be on my favorite's list. I chose to only use two colors, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. I have been seeing a lot of cards lately using the Top Note and figured since I have it I might as well use it.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

My son Craig was cute while I was stamping tonight, every time I would have the backing to my sticky strip on the table he would pick it up and throw it on the floor. And when I would set one of my punches down he would grab it and every scrap piece of paper I would put down and try and punch it. I think he is going to be my stamping buddy :)
For my card tonight I decided to use the Dasher and Snow Swirled stamp sets. The colors are Kraft, Real Red and Whisper White. For the ink I used Soft Suede and Real Red
Thanks for stopping by and Have a great day!

My first Guest Stamper!

My friend Sherri Mills made these beautiful scrapbook pages for me, she is so talented. How cute are the Frankenstein head and the spiders! I can not wait until Halloween so I can fill them with pictures of the boys. I think this is such a great layout because I like to put lots of pictures onto my pages, you will probably be seeing lots of pages with this layout from me in the future.
Thanks Sherri!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sliding Penguin

My son Craig really liked this card because the penguin slides up and down the ice hill. If you have never made a slider card (I don't know what the proper name for them is) don't worry, they are simple.
Have a great day!

Supplies used to make this card:
S/S- Snow Swirled
C/S- Bashful Blue, Whisper white, Basic Black, Pumpkin PIe and Night of Navy
Ink- Bashful Blue
Accessories- Large and small oval punch, Trio Flower Punch, Star punch, 1/4" and 1/8" Circle punch, Dazzling Diamond, 2-way glue and sponges

To make slider:
Step one- use your hobby blade and cut a diagonal hole about 3/8" wide and as long as you would like and discard scrap piece. (If you are placing your slider close to the edge of your paper then the word window punch works great)
Step two- Take a penny and stick a piece of rubber that you kept from when you cut your stamps out to it and line it up in the hole you cut and then attach whatever you would like - in my case it is a punched penguin. Voila you have a slider card.

Winter Window!

Sorry I have not posted for a few days I have been super busy with the boys, scrapbooking with friends and a demonstrator meeting. I really like the Season of Friendship stamp set yet I always have a hard time creating projects with it. I wanted to do a window card and thought that the tree would be perfect for the outside scenery. It is hard to see but there are snowflakes, snow on the ground and snow on the trees using the Dazzling Diamonds.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Recipe for this card:
C/S- Always Artichoke, Whisper White and Very Vanilla
Ink- Basic Brown, Ruby Red, Always Artichoke and Versa Mark
Accessories- Window Sheet, Dazzling Diamonds and Stampin Dimensionals

Note- I cut out the Window sheet and taped the frame to it and then used the dimensionals to pop it up from the tree scene.

Medallion

This Stamp is gorgeous! It is the number one selling stamp for Stampin' Up!

I cased this card from my fellow demonstrator Pat Childs, she always makes beautiful cards. For the first one I used Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry. To make the Medallion stamp with two colors combined you simply cover the entire stamp with the light color, in this case it is Crushed Curry and then use a sponge dauber to go around the edges with the darker color (Rich Razzleberry).

For this card I originally wanted to use Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry but when I stamped the Melon Mambo over the Crushed Curry it created Pumpkin Pie. I am happy with the outcome even though this isn't what I was going for.

This is the Card that I cased from Pat Child's. Her colors were Bermuda Bay and Apricot Appeal, I never would have thought to put these two colors together.

Dasher

So now that Thanksgiving is done I am going to be spending more time on Halloween and Christmas projects. I should really set aside some time to work on the boys scrapbooks, I am so behind it is ridiculous.
Today's card is quick and simple to make for the holidays. I used the Snow Swirled and Dasher stamp sets, the Petals a Plenty textured impressions and the Soft Suede polka dot ribbon. The card stock is Soft Suede and Whisper White.

More Pumpkins!

One of my favorite things about October are all the pumpkins so I decided to make one last Thanksgiving card with pumpkins on it. I am so full from our last two days of turkey dinners, I think I will be good until Christmas!
I hope everyone (canadians) enjoyed their long weekend with family and friends!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers!
I am posting two cards today since I was unable to do so yesterday.

I think these punched pumpkins are great! The colors for this card are Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, and Very Vanilla. All paper edges are sponged using Soft Suede ink. I used the Large and small oval punches and the slot punch for the pumpkins. To make the curly stems I cut a thin strip about 2 1/2" long and wrapped it around the skinny end of my paper piercer, then I used my tweezers to pull the center end out to create a beautiful curl.

How cute is this bear! I have a feeling I will be making a lot of them. I wanted to use him for a Thanksgiving card for my parents from our boys, I am very happy with how it turned out. The colors are Old Olive, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Real Red and Bordering Blue. I used the Large and small oval punches and the slot punch for the pumpkins. The Happy Thanksgiving for both cards is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and is stamped in Soft Suede ink.
Have a great Thanksgiving day!

Oct 9, 2009

So I went to upload some pictures and my camera battery died right in the middle of loading:( I have one of those lithium ones so I have to wait for it to charge.
I just love when that UPS truck pulls up to my house with new stuff! I bought some of the Build a bear dies and stamp sets, yey! I made a few bears and my oldest son Craig started to play with them and then put them back on my craft table when he was done.
I will be back tomorrow with a charged camera!
Have a great night!

Punched Penguin!

I thought this was an adorable little punched penguin, I actually came up with him on my own. I thought the earmuffs looked so cute. I think this card would be a great holiday card for kids.
Thanks for stopping by and  have a great day!

Last Halloween!

How horrible is it that I just scrapbooked last Halloween's pictures. I figured it was okay to use the Halloween Designer paper from the last Idea book since I was supposed to have it done last year. The spiders are made using the 1 3/8", 3/4", 1/2', 1/4", 1/8"circles and the Photo Corner punches, I made a mama and 3 baby spiders. The letters are cut out using the Naturally Serif Decorative Strip Die for the Big Shot.
Have a great day!

Totally Tool!

I was going through some of my cards and came across this one that I made for my husband a while back. I saw it on Heather Summers blog and had to make it. My husband likes to woodwork so it was a must have set. I am excited to use it for some scrapbook pages too, my oldest son loves to go out into the garage with his dad to build and fix stuff. He is so cute, he walks around with the hammer tapping it on everything.

I know that the picture is not very clear, it is hanging in my husbands workshop and I didn't want to take it down. This is what I made for him for Father's Day from the boys. I took some of his and his father's tools to the photo studio to use as our props in the picture. It was so hard to time it to be able to take his tools without him knowing. Craig was actually using the tools and Ryan was eating them!
