Angry Birds

I know I have slacked on my posts again but it has been so nice out! I hope you all are having a wonderful summer too! :)

I had a special request for an Angry Bird card for a young boys birthday thank you cards.
This is what I came up with, I used the Circle Die for the Big Shot and I am happy that it turned out looking like an Angry Bird! To make the bottom white part I placed the bottom of my Real Red circle back on the Circle Die and ran it through the machine again.

To make this card;

Card Stock - Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie
Big Shot - Circle Die
Punches - 1" Circle (eyes), 1/2" Circle (eyes) Small Tag (eyebrows), 1 1/4" Square (beak) and 3 Heart Punch (Tail/hair?)

Inspired By Nature Cracked Glass Technique

Inspired by Nature will be a set I keep forever, I was sad to see it go.
I used it for so many projects.

I stamped the Daisy's using StazOn Black ink. To get the Shadowed look I inked the stamp and stamped the image, then I lifted the top end of the stamp and shifted it slightly to the right. I used So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie Ink with the brayer on the Vanilla card stock.

Here is a close up of the Butterflies, I brayered them the same but chose to make them slightly darker so that they would stand out better. I wanted my class to learn the cracked glass technique and I thought it looked really pretty with the butterflies. My mixture is Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, Dazzling Diamonds and Iridescent Ice. You want to heat atleast 2-3 layers so that it will be nice and thick to crack. Once it is dry you just start bending it and then it will crack! You can do this as much or as little as you like.

To make this layout;

STamps - Inspired by Nature (retired) and Tiny Tags
C/S - Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron
Ink - StazOn Black, Pumpkin PIe and So Saffron

Another Inspired By Nature Page

I was so happy with these pages, I love the color combination.

I was also sad to see the Season of Friendship set go, I loved this tree!
I used the baby wipe technique to create my own ink pad so that I could have different greens on the tree. I will explain how to do this below.

Here is a close up of the daisy's.
 I can see myself using this technique again for my fall scrapbook pages, it will make the most beautiful leaves!

Baby Wipe Technique;

1. Make sure your baby wipe is on something that can be wiped up or thrown out because the ink will bleed right through the wipe (I use card board with plastic on it, like an empty DSP Package) You can fold the wipe to what ever size is needed for your stamp.

2. Randomly squeeze drops of each color in a large enough space so that your entire stamp can be covered.

3. Stamp your image! To do something more detailed such as the daisy's I used a really light color such as Sahara Sand to stamped the Daisies on to the wipe so that I could make sure I squeezed the drops in just the right spot so that it looked like a daisy.

Tip: Every so often I like to clean the stamp on a clean spot of the wipe because I find that the more you do the more it starts to look like one solid color.

I took just the tree portion from the scrapbook page and turned it into a card as well!

Betsy's Blossoms

I really like this new stamp set available in the Idea Book and Catalogue!
I stamped the large flower 3 times and punched out 2 of the centers using the 1 3/4" and 1 1/4" circle punches and then used Dimensionals to pop up each layer. I used a Rhinestone in the center of the top circle to finish it off. You have to make sure that you use demensionals to pop up the piece lying flat so that the card is able to catch on something to stand up.

Dimensions - 4  1/4" by 10" scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". 5 1/2" by 4 1/4" for the card face and 1 1/2" by 4 1/4" for the bottom

To make this card;

Stamps - Betsy's Blossoms

Ink - Rich Razzelberry, Tempting Turquoise and Lucky Limeade
Other - 1 /34" and 1 1/4" Circle punches, Dimensionals and Rhinestones

Birthday Wishes

I forget where I saw a card similar to this, probably on one of the several blogs I like to look at.
I thought this card made a really nice Mother's Day card so all I did was replace the birthday wishes with Happy Mothers day! Each layer on this card is popped up using Dimensionals.

To make this card;

Stamps - Just Believe (birthday wishes is from a retired SAB set)

Party Favors

I created these favors for one of my demonstrator get togethers. They would make great favors for Bridal Showers, Weddings and Baby Showers. These are made using 2 tags from the Two Tags Die. I even decorated the mini Hersey chocolates inside the tags. I wrapped each one with DSP and put a flower and pearl on top. I stuck a small piece of sticky strip on the bottom to make sure the chocolates would not fall out.

To make this favor;

Stamps - Tiny Tags

Ink - Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo
Big Shot - Two Tags, Blossom Party and Elegant Lines TIEF

Roar!

Here is another really cute boy birthday card! My son enjoyed making one with me to to give to one of his friends. I know, Concord Crush just retired but it would easily be substituted for Elegant Eggplant. I did decide to add a brad to the end of each purple strip after I took this photo, it finished it off! I chose to use one of my bigger clear mount blocks and then stuck both the dinosaur and the saying on it so I could stamp them at the same time and have them lined up just right.

To make this card;

Stamps - Dinoroar

I will miss Crazy for Cupcakes!

Crazy for cupcakes was probably my most used birthday sets, I did all sorts of different things with this set and I will miss using it in my clubs and classes.
One of my fellow demonstrators made this style of card for our last get together so I thought I would give it a try. You will have to send me your blog Lisa so I can link it to my page and then everyone can see your card! I have wanted to make a card like this but I just haven't seemed to have the time to figure it out, I was surprised how simple it is. I will post the measurements at a later date with instructions on how to make it.

To make this card;

Stamps - Crazy for Cupcakes

Happy Dirt Day!

I love this stamp set!
I think maybe it is because I used to operate equipment like this and I also have two boys who love heavy equipment. I made two versions of this card, one with presents and one with the dirt pile in the box of the dump truck. I chose to pop up the dump truck using dimensionals so it looked like it was further out than the Excavator. I just ripped the Chocolate Chip Card Stock to make it look rough. I also sponged all edges so that the card looked dirty! :)

To make this card;

Stamps - I Dig You!
C/S - Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, and Whisper White
Ink - Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Basic Black, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive
Other - Sponges and Dimensionals
