Tool Christmas Tree!

My brother in law is a plumber so I wanted to come up with a Christmas card that was as close to being plumbing related as possible. I thought this was pretty clever! I used the wrench from Totally Tool, the star from Under the Stars and Season's Greetings from Four the Holidays. I water coloured the wrench's and star using the Aquapainter and ink pads.

iTunes Gift Card Holder

I got an iTunes gift card for someone and it is unusually large so I came up with this holder. I took a 3 3/4" x 11" piece of card stock and scored it at 5 1/2", I cut 1/4" off one 5 1/2" side. I used a very thin strip of double sided tape to stick 3 sides together and then decorated the folder.

Santa Gift card Holder

I made this gift card holder using the Top Note Die for the Big Shot and the Jolly Old Saint Nick stamp set. I fell in love with this stamp set as soon as I saw it and had to have it. I have actually made quite a few projects with it now, I have definitely gotten my money's worth on this one. I always add Dazzling Diamonds to Santa's hat to finish him off! I really enjoy making gift card holders, it makes me feel better to give a gift card in a hand made with love holder.

Christmas Gift Card Holder

I made some of these gift card holders last year for my craft show. I saw this idea on Heather Summer's blog, I get a lot of ideas from her, she is very creative! To make this I used the Top Note Die, Word Window Punch, Circle Scallop #2 Die, Circle Cutter, Brads and some stretchy cord. I also chose to water colour the trees using my aqua painter and ink pad.

Teacher gift

Craig has such a wonderful preschool teacher so I wanted to make something nice for her for Christmas. I thought a card set would be perfect for her because we always need cards for something. I wanted to use the apple in the Apple Blossoms hostess stamp set and this is what I came up with. I forgot to take a picture but I also stuck a piece of Whisper White card stock inside the card and stamped apples on the bottom left corner to finish it off. I got my box idea from Heather Summers blog, I can't believe how quick it was to make. I made 10 cards with matching envelopes for inside the box.
I hope she likes it!

HO HO HO

Ho Ho Ho!
I had wanted this Ho Ho Ho on Board kit when it was in the mini last year but could not justify it at the time. It just happened that it came on the clearance rack for $6.19 and I bought one right away. The boys and I had fun getting this ready to hang for the holidays, Craig had his first snow day from preschool and it looks like I am going to have another one from work tomorrow since the highway I take is closed. It sure is nice to be getting some extra time to craft again. We added some holly using punches and snowflakes cut out using the Big Shot and then covered in Dazzling Diamonds, because it isn't shiny enough eh! There was so much glitter on my craft desk that I was able to sweep it into a container to reuse on other projects, Yey! I never used to be a glitter person but I find myself using it more and more.
Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest, it was so bight out during daytime hours that you could only see that it said HO HO HO and the glittery shine is what makes this project!

Snowman Soup

I saw this box on Angie Kennedy Juda's Blog and had to make it. Inside the box is a package of hot chocolate, a candy cane to stir, marshmallow's and a Hershey's Kiss. This is an excellent project to add to any gift. I made one as a gift and then added a gift card to the box to complete it. I made a different version of snowman soup last year and it was really popular at my craft sale.

Reindeer Food!

I was responsible for making a craft for the kids at my son's preschool Christmas party so I thought this reindeer food would be really simple and cute for them to make. The ones in the picture are the one's my boys completed, didn't they do a great job? All the kids seemed to really like this project. The idea behind this is that they sprinkle the food on the lawn on Christmas eve so the reindeer smell the food and see the sparkling sugar and then lead Santa to your house. I printed out a poem (posted below) on Avery labels so the kids could stick it on the back.

The poem;

Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home

To Make this you will need;

Top Note Die
Swirls Scribbles Die
3/4" Circle punch
Google eyes
Glitter
Small cellophane bags
Velcro to close the bag
Oatmeal and sugared candy
