Snow Much Fun Water Coloring

Here is a simple card to duplicate for you Christmas cards, if you have not water-colored before it may be a little more time consuming for you. You can use the Markers to color in the images to save time and still get a beautiful card!

There are different ways you can get the watercolor effect for your image;

1. You can color your image with the Crayons or Pencils and then go over it with your Aqua Painter or Blender Pen,
2. You can rub the tip of your Aqua Painter or Blender Pen right on the Crayon and then color in your image,
3. You can transfer Ink from the Ink Pads onto the lid and dip the tip of your Aqua Painter or Blender Pen into the Ink, and
4. Color your Image on watercolor paper using different shades of Markers and then go over it with the Aqua Painter.
For the best results I like to stamp my Image on to the Watercolor Paper and then color it in. I would have to say that for fall images number 4 is my favorite and for all other images I prefer my water color Crayons with the 2nd technique.

To Make:

Stamps - Snow Much Fun
Ink - StazOn Black and Cherry Cobbler
C/S - Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze and Whisper White
Other - Watercolor Crayons and Aqua Painter or Blender Pens

Gift Card Holder Card

I originally designed just the gift card holder portion and then thought it seemed small and decided to mount it on the front of a card so that there would be somewhere to write a note to the receiver. I stamped the gingerbread man on the inside of the card. The pearls colored with the Sharpie Markers look great on the Christmas tree.

To make this card:

Stamps - Sensational Season and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink - Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green
C/S - Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and Very Vanilla
DSP - Be of Good Cheer
Punches - Scallop Trim, Word Window and Modern Label
Big Shot - Holiday Collection Framelits, Snow burst and Northern Flurry EF
Other - Pearls and Dimesionals
Ribbon - 3/8" Stitched Satin Stitched Gumball Green

No Peeking

I found this card on A Demonstrator page and I had to case it. The only thing I did different was I added a red pearl nose on the reindeer. You can turn the pearls into what ever color you want by coloring them with Sharpie Markers, they are permanent so they won't smudge like our markers would.

To make this card:

Stamps - No Peeking
Ink - Early Expresso
C/S - Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler
DSP - Be of Good Cheer
Ribbon - Gumball Green 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon
Big Shot - Circles #2 Original Die
Other - Pearls

Ornament Keepsakes

I saw a couple cards like this online, I apologize, I do not remember names or blogs. Feel free to tag yourself if you created the original card. I don't know if I like the Not Quite Navy or Old Olive better. This was the first time I really used the Framelits Dies and I like them! They do take a little bit to get used to, it doesnt take much for them to shift on the plates.
Stampin' Up! has some great bundles in this years Holiday Catalogue. The Ornament Keepsakes can be bundled with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies.

To make this card:

Stamps - Ornament Keepsakes and Greetings of the Season
Ink - Ridinghood Red, Old Olive and Not Quite Navy
C/S - Ridinghood Red and Whisper White
Big Shot - Holiday Ornaments Framelits
Other - Rhinestones, Cherry Cobbler and Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine and Dimensionals

Newlyweds

One of my friends got married on Saturday and it was the most beautiful wedding I have ever been to! It was such a perfect day for an outside wedding. Everything was perfect, there were even fire works.
This is the card that I made for them, I may have posted this before as an invitation. I know, the Baroque Motifs set is retired but it is my favorite set to use for weddings. I heat embossed using Black Powder and the Newlyweds is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Happy Birthday Craig!

My oldest son turned 5 on the 9th, I can't get over how fast time flies by.
Craig decided he wanted to have a sports themed party so we used the retired sports balls. I got the idea for this card right out of last years Idea Book and Catalogue. The balls are heat embossed using Clear Embossing Powder.

My neice turned 6 years old last week and she has already lost two teeth! They just grow to fast.
This is the card that I made for her, I think my demo friend Sam brought this ballerina to one of our swaps, it was so long ago I can not remember for sure. I love this ballerina, I wish I had a girl so I could do some scrapbook pages with it for her.

Angry Birds

I know I have slacked on my posts again but it has been so nice out! I hope you all are having a wonderful summer too! :)

I had a special request for an Angry Bird card for a young boys birthday thank you cards.
This is what I came up with, I used the Circle Die for the Big Shot and I am happy that it turned out looking like an Angry Bird! To make the bottom white part I placed the bottom of my Real Red circle back on the Circle Die and ran it through the machine again.

Inspired By Nature Cracked Glass Technique

Inspired by Nature will be a set I keep forever, I was sad to see it go.
I used it for so many projects.

I stamped the Daisy's using StazOn Black ink. To get the Shadowed look I inked the stamp and stamped the image, then I lifted the top end of the stamp and shifted it slightly to the right. I used So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie Ink with the brayer on the Vanilla card stock.

Here is a close up of the Butterflies, I brayered them the same but chose to make them slightly darker so that they would stand out better. I wanted my class to learn the cracked glass technique and I thought it looked really pretty with the butterflies. My mixture is Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, Dazzling Diamonds and Iridescent Ice. You want to heat atleast 2-3 layers so that it will be nice and thick to crack. Once it is dry you just start bending it and then it will crack! You can do this as much or as little as you like.

To make this layout;

STamps - Inspired by Nature (retired) and Tiny Tags
C/S - Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron
Ink - StazOn Black, Pumpkin PIe and So Saffron
Dies - Beautiful Butterflies
Punches - Scallop Border, Scallop Trim Border and 1/2" Circle

Another Inspired By Nature Page

I was so happy with these pages, I love the color combination.

I was also sad to see the Season of Friendship set go, I loved this tree!
I used the baby wipe technique to create my own ink pad so that I could have different greens on the tree. I will explain how to do this below.

Here is a close up of the daisy's.
I can see myself using this technique again for my fall scrapbook pages, it will make the most beautiful leaves!

Baby Wipe Technique;

1. Make sure your baby wipe is on something that can be wiped up or thrown out because the ink will bleed right through the wipe (I use card board with plastic on it, like an empty DSP Package) You can fold the wipe to what ever size is needed for your stamp.

2. Randomly squeeze drops of each color in a large enough space so that your entire stamp can be covered.

3. Stamp your image! To do something more detailed such as the daisy's I used a really light color such as Sahara Sand to stamped the Daisies on to the wipe so that I could make sure I squeezed the drops in just the right spot so that it looked like a daisy.

Tip: Every so often I like to clean the stamp on a clean spot of the wipe because I find that the more you do the more it starts to look like one solid color.

I took just the tree portion from the scrapbook page and turned it into a card as well!
