Bride to be!

One of my friends is getting married this year and tomorrow is her wedding shower. She is also a stamper so I wanted to make something especially nice for her. I got my idea off of Splitcoast, sorry I forget who's card it was. The flower stamp is from Happy Moments, one of last year's Sale-a-bration stamp sets. I chose to go with Rich Razzleberry since that was the colour on the invitation. I used my big shot alphabet dies for the bride and then sponged the edges and covered with Dazzling Diamonds. I hope she likes it!

Have a great day!

Budding Artists!

I am going to share a non stamping related but crafting post with you today.
I have been trying to fill some blank spots on my walls that have been driving me crazy for quite some time. I have been looking for the right pictures for two years now. I went over to a friends house on the weekend and saw a few canvasses hanging on the wall that her and her daughters painted together and a light bulb turned on. I went and picked up the biggest canvass I could find and some smaller ones the next day and the boys and I were on a mission to fill in those blank spots! The boys thought it was so much fun to paint in their underware or as they would say 'naked.' They did not even complain about the neutral colours I chose, they each picked a favourite right off the bat and went for it. I am very happy with our end product and so are Craig and Ryan. When the boys woke up the next morning and saw that their art was on the wall they got so excited they were pointing and telling Jeff that they painted that, it was such a great moment!

Valentine Candy Box

I got this idea fromKay Kalthoff's blog, she made a christmas one and shows pictures of the inside of the box, I glued mine down before I thought to take a picture. I will post one the next time I make this box.
To make this all you need is the Matchbox Die Cut, Window Sheet, Glue Dots, Jumbo Eyelet, card stock, ribbon, DSP and stamps of your choice. Don't forget to fill it with some treats, I don't have any valentine's chocolates lying around yet so mine is empty!

Snowman MDS Page

The boys were so excited to get outside and build their first snowman. I think they did a great job!

I have not used My Digital Studio in a very very long time. A couple weeks ago I was looking at some different snowman projects online and I got an idea. Since I love making projects using punches I thought it would be gneat to make a snowman using MDS punches and fill him in with pictures.

The boys like to help out in the kitchen any chance they get. I used to complain to Jeff all the time to get rid of that lower counter because there is not enough space for a table, but now that the kids want to help I am thankful for that counter. They can sit on it and be at the perfect level to help me and make a little less of a mess.

Ryan's 2nd Birthday!

Ryan celebrated his second birthday on December the 6th. He had originally been interested in a Handy Manny party but switched to Mickey Mouse when we were shopping for supplies. I will admit that it made things easier for me, I know I have seen lots of great Handy Manny projects out there, but to make all the tools would have been to time consuming. Ryan couldn't stop talking about his Mickey birthday for two weeks before his party and two weeks after, he was just so excited.

For the invitation I used a Mickey Mouse stamp I picked up for $2.00 a year ago. I always choose to use the Family Phrases set for the kids invites and cards. I used Real Red, Basic Black, More Mustard and Whisper White for the colours

I like to make my thank you cards simple, especially when you have no idea how many you will need to make. I used the 1 3/4" and 1" Circle Punches to make Mickey's head. I also used the Word Window and the Modern Label punches onthe invites and thank you's. The more Mustard paper on both cards is run throught the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.

Ryan's birthday card is Mickey's head! I was very proud of myself when I came up with this one, in case you don't know I love to make stuff using punches. I used the Circle Die to make the card, I folded my paper in half, then I placed it on the Circle Die leaving a little space so that it would not cut the complete circle. I cut out another circle using Blush Blossom (retired), used pencil to freehand an outline of his face and then cut it out. I used the 1 3/4" Circle (ears) Wide Oval (mouth), Large Oval (eyes ans nose), Small Oval (Centre of eye) and small heart (tongue) punches to make Mickey's face. To sinish off his face I used the Black marker to draw in the rest of Mickey's smile.

I used my Circle Scissor Plus to cut out a slightly smaller circle and stamped in happy birthday from family phrases. Ryan was pretty excited when he saw his birthday card. He just kept saying 'Mickey' over and ovaer again.

Cupcake Birthday!

I have not posted in a while, I have been feeling a little run down and took some time to relax. I don't remember the last time I lazed around like this, I bet it was well before I had children. I am so appreiative that my husband didn't give me a hard time and just let me relax. He even took the boys outside so I could totally relax :) I was so glad to start feeling like myself again today, I feel energized, motivated and ready to get back into things.
I was talking to my sister-in-law today and she had a good point, Christmas holidays are no holiday at all. We spend our time running around shopping, wrapping, decorating, cooking, cleaning, baking, returning unwanted or wrong sized items and then cleaning some more. Although, I do love the end result of all that hard work, I loved watching my boys faces light up Christmas morning and I loved how happy and excited they were to have their own little New Years Eve party and stay up late! I would do it all again without thinking twice!
Enough of that and onto my card. I made this card for my stepdaughter for her birthday. I thought the colours were very bright and cheerful. I used Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquois and Old Olive. The DSP is Bali Breeze, I don't even know when it was in, it may have been from before I was a demonstrator. I also used the retired Melon Mambo Polka dotted ribbon. I figured I should stop hoarding and start using. I used various punches and chose to watercolour the cupcakes. I will tell you this card is not my creation, Heather Summers made this card a long time ago and I just changed the colours.
Have a great day and best wishes in the new year!
