Have an ice day!

Todays card features the Animal Crackers stamp set! I think penguins are so cute! The colors for this card are Tempting Turquoise and Summer Sun. I used SU markers to color the image, I used the journal end of the Tempting Turquoise to go around the edges of the ice block and puddle.

Animal Crackers!

I have not used this set for a year so I thought it would be next on my to be used list! I went to one of Heather Summer's fundraisers last year and this was the stamp set that we used to make our projects. We made a card similar to this one, I changed some things to make it my own.
I really like this color combination and I think I am going to try them for a birthday card.

Turtles!

Look familiar? I liked the fox card so much I decided to do a turtle one. I used Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal and Bermuda Bay. I decided to use Taken with Teal card stock as a frame around the turtles, just to change it up a little from yesterday. I colored the Welcome Baby stamp using markers with all three colors in the same order as the turtles. Again, this would be a simple card to mass produce for invites to a baby shower or as thank you cards for baby gifts.

Baby Fox!

I just love the Fox and Friends stamp set. I decided to make an extremely simple card that could be used for anything. I decided to put welcome baby from Short and Sweet on the front. I know so many people that are pregnant so I am sure this card will get used. You could easily switch the welcome baby for a thank you and it would be easy to mass produce for all your baby gifts.

Beautiful Butterfly!

Todays card is made using the Beautiful Butterfly Die for the Big Shot. This die was a must have for me when it came out and I have never used the two biggest butterflies until now. I was surprised at how big the biggest one was. The saying is from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. You can't tell in the picture but the white background is embossed with the Polka dot embossing folder.

Grrreat!

I have been trying to justify putting in an order for new stamp sets. I feel like I just have to have so many sets and then I use them a couple of times and then they collect dust on my shelf because I get something new. So I have decided that before I allow myself to order more I am going through all of my sets I haven't used for a while and making something with them. I guess I will be busy working away over the next little while because I really really really want to get some new stamp sets!

Todays card features Under the Stars, I will probably use this set lots in the summer for scrapbooking our camping trips. I decided to pair up Soft Suede and Barely Banana and am quite pleased with the outcome. I stamped the bear on watercolor paper, it is really nice paper to color on with markers and you get a quarter of the streaks you would get on card stock. It also looks great to color the image in with the markers and then lightly brush the aqua painter over it for a watercolor look.

Thanks for stopping by and have a grrreat day!

You're a blast!

I told you you would be seeing this stamp set for the next few days! I decided to do a kids card with the rocket, my son was with me while I made it and he kept stealing the rocket and the stars to play with them. He had the box of one of his hot wheels trucks filled with all the stars. I don't think it will be long before he is crafting with me regularly :)

I stink you're sweet!

Here is another card using Pun Fun. I saw a card like this made at a meeting I went to on Monday, it took me a couple of tries to figure it out. It sure is a lot easier to case something when you can see a copy of it. Sorry my picture isn't the best, my battery died on my camera. I decided to use the skunk and make a Valentine's day card, it is hard to see but the phrase is 'I stink you're sweet!' I might use this card for my husband.

Pun Fun!

I was going through my stamp sets trying to decide which set I wanted to make a card with and I came across Pun Fun. This was one of my first stamp sets I bought and when I come to think of it, I really haven't used it very much. I think I might make my next few cards with it. Don't you think this is a great layout, I got my idea from a card on page 60 of the Idea book and catalogue.

To make todays card you need an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2" piece of Black c/s, a 5 x 3 3/4" piece of Old Olive, 3 x 2 3/4" piece of Bordering Blue and a 2 3/4 x 2 1/2" watercolor paper. I colored the edges of the Hippo in with bordering blue marker and then used an aqua painter and brushed from the outside in to spread the color. The bow is Old Olive, the ears are pretty in Pink, the toes are barely banana and the ballon is Real Red. I used 3 Black brads and 5/8" grosgrain Basic Black ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Friends!

Today's card is 4" x 4" and uses the Vintage Vogue stamp set yet again, I just can't get enough of it! I used the Mat Pack and paper piecer around the Whisper White card stock. My colors are Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery.

Jelly Beans!

I made the same card as the other day but instead of the stamped gum balls I used a treat cup and filled it with jelly beans. I really liked the colors I chose so I decided to do them exactly the same.
It is amazing, I have actually been scrapbooking tonight, it sure has been a while and I have so much to do. I will probably never be caught up, I can always hope.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Sow Day!f

The other day my husband suggested that we take the boys for a walk. It was beautiful out, not to cold for the boys and lots of fresh snow. As you can tell I like to have lots of pictures per page, to me it tells a story and helps me remember the great times we have had.
Have a great day!

Flowers!

I have been so busy today that I haven't had a chance to make anything new. I have been trying to clean my craft area, it is still a little disorganized from all my Christmas projects. There is never enough shelf space. as soon as I give everything a home, I buy something new and then have no more space. I guess I just need more shelves! That sounds like a good project for my husband! While I was cleaning I came across this card that I made some time ago for a workshop. I originally made a similar card in one of our shoebox swaps from Sherri Mills.

Hello baby!

I decided to use the Look Who's Turning stamp set to make a baby card instead of a birthday card, The Hello Baby is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used the DSP from last years Sale-a-bration, I figured I would use up some old stuff before I get my new stuff. When ever I make baby cards I always seem to use these colors, maybe I don't use girly colors because I have boys or maybe because 90% of the time you go to a baby shower the mom to be doesn't know what she is having, or maybe I just like them.

Mmm, bubble gum!

I was feeling colorful today so I decided to use lots of Bold Brights with my new Something Sweet stamp set from the Occasions Mini. I had a completely different project in mind and when I went to make it I couldn't find something I needed so hopefully tomorrow I will have a chance to make it, now all I have to do is remember the project!

Want to make this card?
Here is what you need
Something Sweet Stamp Set
5 1/2" x 8 1/2 " and a 2" x 3/4" Real Red
3 1/2" x 2 1/2" Pumpkin Pie and Yo Yo Yellow
1 1/2" x 4 1/2" Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore
2 1/2" x 4" and 1 3/4" x 1/2" Whisper White
3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White for inside
1/4" Real Red Grosgrain ribbon
ink: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Yo Yo Yellow, Green Galore and Pixie Pink

To make the notebook

I had a question about how to decorate the notebook from yesterdays post, I used a spiral notebook that had circle holes for the binding. It is really quite simple:

1. Measure the cover and cut C/S of your choice,
2. Tear out a sheet from inside notebook for hole guide,
3. Line up C/S and notebook paper,
4. use circle punch through notebook holes (I used 1/8" circle punch),
5. use scissors to make a slit from edge of paper to the circle.
6. Attach c/s to notebook,
7. Voila, you have a full cover for your notebook and now you are ready to embellish it!

Remember, there is the Spiral punch on page 187 of the Idea Book and Catalogue that may match the type of notebook you are choosing to decorate. I think there used to be a circle one similar to the spiral one, before my Stampin' Up! time.

Vintage Vogue Gift Box!

I liked the card I posted the other day using the new Vintage Vogue stamp set so I decided to make a box set with a similar look. I created this box on my own to fit four 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" cards with envelopes, a notebook and a matching pen. I think this would make an excellent gift, I know I would like something like this! The second picture shows how I finished off the insides of the cards and the notebook. My color choices were Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry, I really think these colors compliment each other. To get the two colors for my stamped images I first stamped using the Crushed Curry ink pad and then used a sponge dauber with Melon Mambo around the edges of the stamp. I chose Melon Mambo instead of Pumpkin Pie because I see a hint of Melon Mambo in the DSP and mixing those two colors basically made Pumpkin Pie and left very little Melon Mambo. I picked up the notebook at the dollar store

Decor Elements Growth Chart!

This is the view from our front door.

I mentioned the other day that I would be tackling a more difficult decor elements and here it is, finally. I have had this growth chart since September, first I couldn't decide where exactly to put it and then once I had decided it was to tall for that spot and I didn't want to make it shorter incase my boys grow to be six feet tall. Then I was scared I wouldn't get it up straight so my wonderful husband helped me out. I still have to put the branch with leaves and a bird up, I am waiting because I am deciding if I want to put the boys framed plastered hand and foot prints on either side. I am so glad that the difficult part is over with, it really wasn't that difficult to put up once I got going. The only thing that was a pain was that every single dash and number was a separate piece so the transferring part took a little longer then expected. It is well worth the trouble, I am very happy with the outcome. I will post the final picture once I have it done, I am hoping to have it done by tomorrow. I finally got Ryan to cooperate with the prints, Jeff and I have been trying for a month now.

Craig's Tag!

Craig started his first day of preschool this week, he is growing up so fast. I needed to mark his bag so they would know it was his so I decided to do something crafty. I decided to go with the build a bear because his bag has a bear on it. The back side of the bear is also finished, all I did was dress the bear backwards so it would match the front. The bear is so shiny because I laminated it so it will hopefully last longer. I tied it on to the zipper using 1/4" Certainly Celery ribbon.

Rich Razzleberry!

Today I felt like purple so I decided to use Rich Razzleberry! This was the first time I used my brand new Vintage Vogue stamp set out of the new Occasions mini and am pleased with the results. The DSP is from Razzleberry Lemonade. The ribbon was originally all solid color and I found that the top left corner looked plain so I flipped it to the polka dot side and voila, it looked complete!

Learning to stamp!

Craig and I were out shopping the other day and we came across a Crayola art kit that included stamps. Craig is constantly grabbing my stamps and pretending to stamp, I saw this kit as a great opportunity to teach him how to stamp! The stamps were images from his favorite movie, Cars! I am excited that he is becoming interested in crafts. I look forward to all the time we will spend crafting together:)

These pages were done using My Digital Studio. I used already made layouts then adjusted the sizes of the picture spots and then moved them to where I wanted them. It is nice to be able to take the stamp set that you want and adjust the size to fit the space that you want.

Learning cards!

Our boys, especially Craig love to play with some of my craft stuff. Craig really likes to point and name the dozens of different punched animals that I have so when I was trying to think of a project using my new Fox and Friends stamp set from the new holiday mini, learning cards came to mind. This is what I came up with, sorry the pictures aren't that great, I laminated the cards with my new laminator my wonderful husband got me for Christmas! Now they are sticky finger proof, yey! Each card is 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". I used the Big shot along with the Naturally Serif and the Little Leaves dies, a few different punches and the Forest Friends stamp set along with the Fox and Friends stamp set. I like how they turned out and so did both the boys, I have enjoyed flipping through with Craig while we name, pick out and make some animal noises. I look forward to making more cards to add to this book. I think my next set of learning cards is going to be numbers, I am so happy that both our boys are so interested in learning.
Have a great day!
